I'm hurt that you would interpret me as being unappreciative of vets. Appreciating vets is not incompatible with C.A.D.

IMO, declaring today as C.A.D. was 'stealing the spotlight'. It was not intended to be an interpretation of your personal values.

To be fair, I'm also not American. Perhaps Veteran's Day is not quite as much of a sacred cow for you as Remembrance Day is in Canada.
